Al Zomorod Ramadan Tent at The St. Regis Doha

Every year, I always look forward to celebrating the holy month of Ramadan in Doha. What excites me the most is the great number of stunning Ramadan Tent pop-ups – that is traditionally found in many Muslim countries! During this time, Doha’s dining scene is always all out to give you the best of your Ramadan experience.

A few weeks ago, I got the privilege to attend Ramadan Ghabga in Al Zomorod Ramadan Tent at St. Regis. What is Ramadan Ghabga? It happens between Iftar and Suhoor, around 8:30 PM till 10-ish in the evening. The Al Zomorod Tent is located on the ground floor of the hotel.

Disclaimer: Although I was invited by The St. Regis Doha Hotel, this write-up is meant to be an honest review of my experience. I was not asked by the hotel’s management to post about this and there’s no intention of bragging. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The tent is overwhelmingly large. As you step in, you will be welcomed by the elegant setting of the tent with sparkling lanterns from the ceiling. A live Arabic band is there to keep the guests entertained while savoring their foods. Each table was filled with Ramadan essentials like dry fruits, dates and of course, a bottle of water.

Private majilis are available if you want to have intimate dining with your beloved family and friends. During Sohour, you are allowed to have hookah indoor (which is for me, a not a good idea at all) but during Iftar, you are only allowed to have it at their outdoor seating area.

The food here did not disappoint.

The fancy feast boasts live cooking stations and Ramadan drinks. Indulge yourselves in an open buffet of exciting traditional & authentic Arabic favorites. They also have a good selection of staples from Indian and Asian cuisines & some international dishes as well. There was a separate counter for grills like shishtawook, lamb, kebabs outside the hall.

My favorite was the roasted duck and the Japanese section! I kept on coming back for the salmon salad with crumbs, kani salad and their own version of shrimp ceviche. They also have variety of sliders that your kids will surely love! Don't forget the fries!

For the desserts, they’ve got a large selection of popular Arabic sweets and international desserts. There was a live crepe cooking station, an ice cream bar and a separate stall for Turkish ice cream. Emirgan Sutis was also there to serve the guests with their signature Turkish coffee.

Overall, it was a good experience! Al Zomorod Tent is a good option for Iftar/Suhoor. I can say that they've got an extensive spread of foods to choose from. The dessert section, which they've placed in the center of the Ramadan tent, was lavish! Let The St. Regis Doha Hotel add glamour to one of your Ramadan nights.
