Birthdaycation at Ezdan Palace Hotel

I loooove celebrating my birthday! Be it a small or big celebration, for as long as I'm having fun, I'm thankful. It’s just the perfect time to be selfish and of course, to treat myself a bit. So, I'm really looking forward to do something memorable every time my birthday approaches.

It has been almost 3 months since I and Lalabs celebrated our birthday and we are so thankful for all of your birthday wishes. As we grow older, we realized that it’s not the number of friends/invitees that matter anymore but it’s whom we celebrate our birthday with. Not because they don’t matter to us anymore but, as our age slowly adds up, we just want it to be as intimate as possible. This year we’ve both decided to take a time-out from the usual wild birthday celebration *walwalan* or travel – because flying isn’t always feasible. What’s the best alternative for that? A staycation.

As far as my mind can remember, this was the very first time that I spent my birthday like this. No party, nothing “special” happened that day, no dinner and such; just pure RELAXATION.

We treated ourselves for a "staycation" at Ezdan Palace Hotel. It was actually our first time to check in here so we were pretty excited.

Ezdan Palace Hotel is still new, they just opened in May 2018. The hotel spans 3 floors *including the ground floor*and they have 190+ rooms available. I was really impressed with the hotel’s overall design, it’s a mix of traditional and modern. The architecture and interiors are on point. Walking into Ezdan Palace Hotel will really give you that royalty vibe.

This 5-Star luxury hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Markhiya’s shopping district. The hotel is just on the opposite side of Ezdan Mall, Gulf Mall, and LuLu. Landmark Mall, Tawar Mall, Doha Festival City, and IKEA are just a few minutes away.

We’ve booked our overnight stay thru the site called Booking.com. A superior room for a 1-night stay was QR 530.  Buffet breakfast for 2 pax was already included in the price.

I reached the hotel at around 3 in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you'd have to go through a security check. Then, they will assist you in the reception area for your check-in. The staff in-charged that time was friendly and very helpful. Checking-in was easy breezy, everything went by smoothly. I was only carrying one gym bag when I checked-in but they still insisted to carry it for me until we have reached the room.

FYI: They will require for a deposit upon check-in. In my case, they’ve held an amount of QR 350 from my credit card but eventually credited back to my account right after I checked out.

The room itself was amazing, spotless and huge. We had so much space, way more than we needed. Well-equipped with modern amenities and overlooking their huge pool. The king-sized bed was just perfect – so plushy!

The bathroom was also impeccably clean and luxurious – with marble finishing.  There is a large sink area, bathtub, and all the necessary towels, bathrobes and placemats. By the way, the blinds for the bathroom can be rolled down for privacy.

All the lights in the room are being controlled by a touch panel.

These are the things that you will find in your room:
1. Complimentary slippers for 2
2. Laundry Bag
3. Hangers for your clothes
4. Extra cushion
5. Iron & Iron Board
6. Blower
7. Cups/Teaspoons
8. Nespresso Machine
9. Complimentary Nespresso capsules and tea bags
10. Toiletries
11. Smart TV
12. Full length mirror
13. Alarm with built-in Bluetooth speaker

What I didn’t find were toothbrush and toothpaste – pretty important things that should be there since this is a 5-star luxury hotel. Luckily, we brought our own!

In-house guests get a 20% discount to their Spa & Wellness services also, unlimited access to their pool, gym facilities, Jacuzzi and Thermal Suite.

For your dining experience, they have 3 restaurants available inside the hotel.

Tolaitola Restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant. This is where we had a buffet breakfast. It is located on the ground floor area of the hotel.

Red Orchidwhich offers authentic Thai cuisines – ala carte only.

Palermo Restaurantis the place to be if you’re craving for some classic Italian dishes.

We’ve spent the rest of the night mostly offside, though. We went malling and had our dinner at TGIF.

They allowed us to stay until 2pm instead of the usual check-out time of 12PM. As expected, the check-out went by smoothly.

You don’t have to wander far to find special places. We were able to get our much-needed rest at Ezdan Palace Hotel. Our whole experience was immensely satisfying. The only complaint we have, I guess, is that the experience was over too soon so we’re definitely coming back and experience more than this hotel has to offer. I totally recommend this place to my family and friends.
